Page description and purpose: Compassion is key to a thriving society and to our individual and collective well-being. Page Fourteen is dedicated to showing this. I’m looking for an artist to create a black and white, highly detailed city scene of a community, skyline, or map with individuals passing hearts or other items that represent an interchange of compassion. Behind closed doors, peering out through windows, we each live our private struggles and joys, all deserving of a compassionate glance from a neighbour. This page envisions creating cities of compassion to counterbalance the concreteness and coldness of othering. It will depict the passing of hearts between strangers to symbolise the domino effect that a genuine gesture of kindness can create in a sometimes hostile society—a celebration of colour and nuance in a black and white world. We often look out at the big world tragedies and feel overwhelmed by the hatred, apathy and injustice. By rooting closer to home with those in our shared communities we can reconnect to our humanity by engaging with others, renaming them neighbours.
